"Anyone that does not have this accessory is out to lunch. Talk about bang for the buck. I have all four Lumicon filters but seldom use anything other than the OIII. Well, the filter slide has opened my eyes. Being able to click from DS to UHC to OIII and instantly compare was fascinating and surprising. The UHC was more aesthetically pleasing and the DS extended the comets tail almost four fields of view. Also, being able to slide in a DS or UHC while looking at the HII regions in M101. I dont know how I lived without this useful gizmo for so long! Also got to use the denk bino adapter (see below) and it worked better than advertised."
"I also put the new Denkmier Deep-Sky binoviewer through it's paces. The denk
with OCS and 16mm Nag T5 is a great combo. M51 was ridiculous! ALL the
globulars were improved. Not only the 3D effect but the contrast boost. Even though the light is cut in half using two eyes make up and even improve all of the
brighter objects such as M51, M83, M101, M13, M33, M17, but the Veil and fainter galaxies were hurt. I have always been a bino fan on the moon and planets and now to be able to do deep sky as well is pretty cool. Interesting side note,
Jim had a Televue Bino configured with the denk OCS and we did a side by side
on my scope. Two of three observers thought the Denk had superior contrast.
IMHO they were so close it was moot. Also, I had one of Roger's ASTROCRUMB denk adapters that extended the filter slide so I could use the bino w/ filter slide. I could go on and on and on about viewing M8, M20, M16-17, M27 with the denk and filter slide. Take my word, it's a killer view."
